Join us for a garden walk on September 24 at 10Am at Karen’s house, 35W934 Highland Avenue in Elgin, to walk her lovely garden that borders Tyler Creek.
Although mostly woodland and savannah, with many native species of shrubs and trees, sedges, grasses and ferns, her garden also includes prairie plants tucked into sunny areas. This year’s new addition is a pollinator garden. Asters and goldenrod should be in full bloom for our walk.
Parking is tight near the house, but you can park across the street at the First Baptist Church at 1735 W. Highland Avenue.
If you preorder milkweeds or gentians from our fall sale, you can pick them up at Karen’s house during this event.
